Elderly Muslim auto driver were ruthlessly beaten for not raising the slogan of “Modi Zindabad” and “Jai Shri Ram”

The 52-year-old auto driver Ghaffar in Sikar city of Rajasthan was assaulted by Hidutva goons only because the auto driver refused to raise the slogan of “Modi Zindabad and Jai Shri Ram”.

Speaking to Jamia News, the victim’s nephew Shahid said, ‘Uncle had taken his auto to Sikar railway station after offering the morning prayer as usual, leaving the riders in a Choti Jhingar at a place near Sikar and came back to Sikar, two youths stopped him on the way, the youth asked him for Tobacco, He gave them, but they refused to take it, and said that we do not want this tobacco. The uncle then refused and said, “I don’t have any other tobacco any more” and started going back by starting auto, then suddenly two people came in front of the auto with Car, He was pulled out of the auto and brutally beaten by them, then forced him to raise slogans of “Modi Zindabad” (long live Modi) and “Jai Shri Ram”. Pulled beard and abused. The youths said that we would send you to Pakistan ”and ran away after half dead. After about 25-30 minutes, the uncle regained consciousness, then he told us the whole thing.

Shahid, the nephew of the victim Gaffar, says that while the uncle is still admitted in the hospital, he has suffered severe injuries. He is not in a position to talk, his report is yet to come.

On the basis of Ghaffar Ahmad complaint, the police on Friday registered an FIR under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage reli­gious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or reli­gious beliefs), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), 327 (voluntarily causing hurt to extort property, or to constrain to an illegal act), 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to the committing of the theft) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC.

Seeing the seriousness of the case, the Sikar police arrested Rajendra Jat Jagmalpura and Shambhudayal Jat Jigar Chhoti for assaulting an old auto driver within 6 hours, while the same Sikar police has also appealed not to broadcast any disrespectful messages.
